Runners Needed!

If anyone out there is interested in joining a WRL team to run in the Army 10-miler in Washington, DC, October 15, please contact WRL member and runner Walter Winfield at ncaraway@us.net. He’s pulling together a team to run and raise funds for WRL! Go Walter!

Mike Levinson writes:
Last time WRL participated in a race like this, we had two teams: the fast runners on one team, the walkers on the other. Sam Diener and I came in in last place, after two veterans on crutches passed us on the last mile. The officials would not allow Sam and me to cross the finish line because we were carrying a WRL banner. All the WRLers came out to argue with the bosses, and we surprised them by all carrying the banner en masse across the finish line! This year maybe we can think up even more colorful ways to participate.
