Anti-Militarism Task Force

The War Resisters League’s Anti-Militarism program has embarked upon several campaigns to educate people about the root causes of war and violence, and to toil against the forces of militarism and warmaking. Our programs are designed and shaped by the Anti-Militarism Task Force under the approval of the WRL’s Administrative Coordinating Committee and the National Committee. The Anti-Militarism Task Force consists of peace workers from across the United States who agree with the War Resisters League mission statement and are dedicated to defying militarism and violence throughout the world through nonviolent tactics. The task force plans our campaigns, and after receiving suggestions and approval from the WRL National Committee at the National Committee meetings and from the Administrative Coordinating Committee during its monthly meetings, work through subgroups to carry out the programs. Each campaign subgroups works independently from the entire task force on its specific campaign but reports its work and seeks feedback and help from the entire task force during monthly conference calls. The Anti-Militarism Task Force representative reports updates on the campaigns to the Administrative Coordinating Committee at its monthly meetings and to the National Committee meeting January for review and program suggestions.
