WRL National Committee: Call for Nominations!

Nominations Now Due April 3, 2020.

Do you have what it takes to lead WRL?

Know someone who does? Nominate them!

Nominations are open for the at-large seats on WRL’s National Committee (NC), our highest decision-making body. The NC currently meets twice a year in NYC and twice a year by conference call to shape WRL’s programs, policy and direction, and set its budget.

There are openings for nine at-large National Committee members to be elected in Spring 2020 by WRL’s membership. Other NC positions are filled by members from WRL committees and task forces. All NC members must be members of WRL (i.e., signers of the WRL pledge—see below).

Members will be voting on the following NC positions:

Five from Geographical Regions of the country: one each from the Southeast, Northeast, Midwest, Northwest, and Southwest.

Four from “Frontline” Communities: These communities have traditionally been under-represented in WRL’s decision-making and include people of color (African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Latinx, Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, Arab-Americans and others who identify themselves as non-white), women, people with disabilities, and people who identify as LGBTQI.

Nominations Deadline Extended!
Now Due April 3, 2020

You can nominate yourself or someone else (but please check with them first). The nominee should provide a 200 word (or less) statement explaining why they are running and must include complete contact information. Please format as either .docx or .pdf to send.

Mail or email nominations or any questions to WRL Office Coordinator Linda Thurston at linda [at] warresisters.org. Be sure to include the email subject line “WRL NC Nomination”.
