2018 PEACE AWARDS & GRACE PALEY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

We're proud to announce that we'll be awarding Chochenyo and Karkin Ohlone woman and sacral site land activist, Corinna Gould, and The Peace Poets, a NYC-born collective of artists that celebrate, examine, and advocate for life through music and poetry with WRL's 2018 Peace Award. We're also thrilled to announce that lifetime movement activist, Mandy Carter, will be accepting the Grace Paley Lifetime Achievement Award.

95 YEARS YOUNG, A HISTORY

For nearly a century, the War Resisters League community has found affinity not through race, class, or religion, but through the collective desire to live in a world free from the violence of war and oppression. From refusing to participate in civil defense drills as early as 1955, to providing educational resources that counter the anti-immigrant and Islamophobic rhetoric of today, WRL’s been organizing against the racist, sexist, and exploitative systems that promote cultures of fear and ultimately root war for 95 years.
