WRL's Facing Tear Gas Campaign Condemns Recent Police Violence in Durham, North Carolina

WRL's Facing Tear Gas campaign condemns in the strongest terms the Durham Police Department's use of tear gas against a vigil/march the night of December 19th, 2013 in downtown Durham. The vigil and march were led by family members of Jesus Huerta, 17, who died in police custody this past November 19th - with the Durham PD claiming impossibly that he shot himself in the head while handcuffed. According to WRAL, local Durham news, "Since Huerta's death, his friends and family members have demanded a federal investigation into the Durham Police Department about his death and possible 'patterns and practices' of civil rights violations within the department."

No to tear gas, police violence and all state repression!
