Israeli Apartheid Week 2011

Throughout March 2011, in cities all around the globe, Palestine solidarity activists are participating in Israeli Apartheid Week. IAW is a flurry of events which aim to expose the multiple ways the state of Israel commits the crime of Apartheid, as well as call on global civil society to participate in BDS – boycott, divestment and sanctions of Israel and its institutions. In direct response to the 2005 Palestinian civil society call, IAW promotes BDS by holding things like: dabke flashmobs, check point street theater, and educational discussions by more and more intellectuals of conscience. The BDS movement is growing at a startling pace, as people from Louisville, Kentucky to Amman, Jordan realize that it is the most effective means to compel Israel to comply with international law.
