Venezuela
In solidarity with the Latin American and Caribbean Antimilitarist Network (RAMALC) of War Resisters’ International, we share their statement on the current situation in Venezuela. We reject the bombing of Venezuelan territory by the United States, which has also affected the civilian population.
“We condemn this US military action, just as we have condemned every human rights violation by the Nicolás Maduro government. We reject violence and oppression, wherever they come from. We warn that this spiral of authoritarianism threatens Venezuelan sovereignty and the stability of the entire region; it is the continuation of a long history of military interventions by that state, always driven by geostrategic interests.
We have also rejected the dictatorship of Nicolas Maduro, denounced by those who maintain an anti-militarist struggle for Venezuela, but our anti-dictatorial struggle does not justify imperial invasion in Latin American territories.”
