Become a Member

With almost 100 years of resistance history, we're building an antiwar movement that is intergenerational, intersectional, and international.

Becoming a War Resisters League member shows a clear moral and political obligation to end war, militarism, and the root causes of violence: racism, sexism, and all forms of exploitation. While we do not have membership dues, the best way to sustain our movement is by becoming a sustaining member by giving small, monthly gifts. Our members averagely give $22/month.

 3 Reasons To Give

  • Give $22/month to cover travel for organizers and members to get to action sites, so we can resist where and when it matters.
  • Give $15/month to supply WRL coalitions with art supplies for those kick-butt banner drop moments.
  • Give $10/month toward subscriptions to design and publishing software that let's us keep producing our antimilitarist educational materials.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I become a WRL member without donating?
Anyone can become a member without giving by signing onto our membership statement. Because we are grassroots funded, we ask all members to give as generously as you're able to.
What is the WRL Membership Statement?
The War Resisters League affirms that all war is a crime against humanity. We are determined not to support any kind of war, international or civil, and to strive nonviolently for the removal of all causes of war, including racism, sexism, and all forms of exploitation.
Can I become a member if I give but don't sign the statement?
While you're only a member if you sign off on the membership statement, anyone can support WRL's work by getting involved or becoming a donor.
Do I have to give monthly?
We ask that members get involved at any level their able to, which means we're very happy to accept one-time donations. We prefer small monthly gifts as they allow us to plan our work for the long-term, spend less time asking you to give again, and more time working to end war.
