Occupy Wall Street protesters gather in Lower Manhattan to resist the corporate greed and banking practices that caused the current economic crisis. The encampment in Zuccotti Park started September 17, 2011. Since then, hundreds of similar encampments have sprung up all over the country and world. nearly 7,000 people have been arrested during the ensuing protests.
