WRL Endorses the World March for Peace and Nonviolence

Dear friends,

On Friday, October 2, the World March for Peace and Nonviolence  begins its 93-day campaign across the planet. That date also marks the “International Day of Non-Violence,” established by the UN in 2007 to recognize the importance of nonviolence as a way of life and as a tactic of social change.

To help celebrate these 2 landmarks, we invite you to join us at one or more of the following events here in NYC:

Interfaith Sunrise Blessing
8AM, Battery Park waterfront (near the Ellis Island ferry terminal)

Join religious leaders from multiple faiths and spiritualities in sending prayersof protection and well-being to the international team of marchers as they begin their journey in Wellington, New Zealand, and well-wishes to all worldwide who
will be taking action in the next three months to help bring about a world free of violence. Co-sponsored by the Interfaith Center of New York. Reception and press conference to follow.
